Download BioJonathan Osder is a seasoned practitioner of intellectual property law, with a breadth of experience that spans international borders. His expertise finds him engaged in the complexities of AI, copyrights, trademarks, domain names, and high technology law, encompassing the ever-evolving domains of computer science, the Internet, new media, and rights of publicity laws.
Beyond his adeptness with copyrights, trademarks, domain names, and IP portfolio management, Jonathan is dedicated to providing strategic counsel to a diverse clientele, ranging from creators of various disciplines to prominent software companies, artists, manufacturers, and publishers. He specializes in guiding clients through the process of securing, registering with appropriate government agencies, protecting, licensing, and enforcing their proprietary rights, ensuring their intellectual assets are meticulously documented and effectively exploited.
With a wealth of experience as a negotiator and agreement drafter, Jonathan excels in crafting a wide array of contracts from intellectual property transfer, licensing, advertising, merchandise, non-disclosure, to rights clearance agreements. His meticulous approach and comprehensive understanding of intellectual property law make him an invaluable asset to any client seeking to navigate the complex terrain of IP rights and agreements.
Jonathan earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of California, at Berkeley (B.A., 1989) and was awarded his law degree from the University of San Francisco (J.D., 1993), where he served as Comments Editor of the University of San Francisco Law Review. While awaiting his California Bar results, he worked in Melbourne, Australia for Phillips Fox Solicitors, one of Australia’s largest law firms which has since merged with DLA Piper. He then associated with Donahue Gallagher Woods LLP in 1994. He was made Partner in 2000 and served as the firm’s Chief Operations Officer from 2005-2014.
