What Every Lawyer Should Know About eDiscovery
On March 19, 2026, Litigation attorney, Hayley Lenahan, will speak on a presentation provided by the Eastern Alameda County Bar Association on What Every Lawyer Should Know About eDiscovery.
This presentation will address the basics of electronic discovery, including counsel’s professional obligations, the process of developing a discovery plan (including budgeting for eDiscovery), the best practices for document collection, the most effective ways to use electronic materials (including metadata) and more.
Though the presentation will focus on eDiscovery and in litigation, it will also address how eDiscovery practices may be used outside of litigation such as general retention policies or in pre-litigation disputes.
