2023 Annual Employment Law Update
Please join Donahue Fitzgerald, Small Business Majority, and Contra Costa County Employer Advisory Council (CCCEAC) for a complimentary, in-person and virtual employment law seminar. This annual update is your opportunity to understand the latest court cases, legislative and regulatory activity, and significant developments that will affect your workplace in 2023.
During this program, Donahue Fitzgerald attorneys will discuss legal issues impacting businesses in California. For each topic, we will cover how the law may apply to you, relevant cases, and COVID-19 related issues. We will also discuss recent updates to Paid Family Leave, the Paid Family Leave Small Business Grant, and the COVID-19 Supplemental Paid Sick Days Grant Program.
Topics of discussion include:
-
- Wage, hour, and scheduling issues
- Deciding whether to arbitrate a claim (a form of litigation)
- Best practices for remote work and hybrid work environments
- Discrimination and immigration issues to consider when hiring (and firing)
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask the presenting attorneys general questions about the topics covered.
This program is designed for HR professionals, in-house counsel, business executives, and owners to learn about the significant changes in employment law, the impact on human resource and employment practices, and the actions for managing the workplace.
The program is co-sponsored by the Contra Costa County Employer Advisory Council and the Small Business Majority.
Please RSVP by November 28th.
